
St. Joseph Central High School is located at 22 Maplewood Avenue in downtown Pitttsfield, Massachusetts. Nestled in the Berkshire Hills, the school is centrally located with respect to such attractions as Williams College, Berkshire Community College, Tanglewood, Arrowhead, and others.
The school is located in central Pittsfield at 22 Maplewood Ave. which runs between First St. and North St.
From the South/Massachusetts Turnpike: Exit 2, US 20, Lee; bear right on the exit ramp and north on Rte 20, which becomes Rtes. 7-20, and then just US 7 into Pittsfield, about 12 miles. Remain on Rte. 7 into downtown Pittsfield. Follow the Rte. 7 signs around the rotary in the center of town. Then, a left on Rte. 7 up First St. Girls Incorporated is on your right. Maplewood Ave. is a left turn off First St., about 2 miles from the rotary. You can also exit the rotary on North St. and Maplewood Ave. will be a right at the fourth traffic light. The school is about 50 yards down Maplewood Ave. from either direction. There is a parking lot behind the school.
From the North/Vermont: Rte. 7 south through Bennington. Continue on Rte 7 south through Williamstown where is becomes Rte 7-2 for about 2.5 miles, then rte. 7 for 18 miles into Pittsfield. After passing Berkshire Medical Center on your right, Maplewood Ave. is about four streets down on your right.
From the West/Albany: East on Rte. 20 towards New Brittain Rd. for about 5 miles. US-20 becomes RTE 20-22 for a half mile. Then a slight turn to the right on to Rte 20 for 2 miles into Massachusetts. Remain on Rte 20 for about 7 miles and then on to Rte 7. ( See "From the South" above)
From the East/Amherst: Rte 9 west towards Northampton. Rte 9 becomes Rte 9-8A for about 6 miles, the Rte 9-8 for 2 miles. It goes back to just Rte. 9 for 2.5 miles. In Pittsfield, turn left on Rte 7 (First St.) and a right on to Maplewood Ave. Total distance is about 27 miles.
