
St. Joseph Booster Club -- Working For Our Students
The Booster club is currently seeking volunteers for the officer positions of President, Vice President and Secretary. Debra Massey has volunteered to act as Treasurer. Please call Sharon Ferry (442-5369) if you are interested.
What is the SJHS Booster Club?
The main purpose of the Booster Club is to provide financial support to the school, specifically and directly in support of co-curricular activities.
The Club’s current financial commitment to our school is $15,000. Because the Booster Club also awards ten $300 scholarships to college-bound seniors, its total yearly goal is to raise $18,000. As a means of raising these funds, the Booster Club sponsors two fundraisers – the Football Sweepstakes tickets and the Craft Show.
Who belongs to the SJHS Booster Club?
At the beginning of the school year when you pay your school fees, your membership into the Booster Club is included. Every family is a member!! Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm in the school cafeteria. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!!
Craft Show
The Annual Holiday Harvest Craft Show, chaired by Sharon Ferry, will be held on November 10 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at St. Joseph High School on Maplewood Avenue. This event is a St. Joseph Booster Club sponsored fundraiser and proceeds help to financially support all co-curricular activities and clubs of St. Joseph students and enable the Club to award scholarships to college-bound seniors.
The show will feature quality crafters from throughout the Berkshire County region. It will include decorating items, jewelry, artwork, wood crafts, candles, floral designs, quilted items, fleece hats, soft-sculptured characters, pewter figurines and much more.
We are looking for volunteers to help make this show the best ever. Please contact Sharon at 442-5369 if you can help out in any of the following ways: work a booth; bake; set up displays; disassemble displays; play Santa Claus (10-1); take lunch orders; oversee a parking lot; or assist the treasurer. Many hands make light work, so please consider joining our team of volunteers.
The 17th Annual Football Sweepstakes fundraiser is currently underway. This fundraiser in particular often causes some confusion. It is sometimes mistakenly believed that the proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the SJHS football team. This is not the case!! Proceeds from this fundraiser, like all Booster-sponsored events, benefit all co-curricular activities. It just happens to involve the sport of football.
This year's fundraising effort is being chaired by Debra Massey. Each family has received ten football sweepstakes tickets to sell at a cost of $10/ticket. Each ticket is valid ten weeks of the football season starting the end of October and ending in December. Total prizes awarded will be $5000. To help make this fundraiser a success, be sure to get your tickets in as soon as possible, sold or unsold.
